  • Supersub Ishan Pandita slammed in a rebound off a corner in the 84th minute to equalise
  • With the draw, FC Gao extended their unbeaten run to 5 games now

In a tightly contested game at the Fatorda Stadium on Sunday, FC Goa scored a late equaliser against ATK Mohun Bagan to continue their unbeaten run to 5 games now.

After a goal-less first half where both teams struck the crossbar once but could not take the lead, Mohun Bagan took the lead in the 75th minute due to a stunning free-kick from Edu Garcia.

With just 15 minutes to go, it looked like they would take the 3 points to close in the gap on table-toppers Mumbai City FC, but FC Goa had other plans.

Supersub Ishan Pandita slammed in a rebound after Donachie’s first attempt off a corner was blocked in the 84th minute. Bagan nearly took the lead again when substitute Manvir Singh rattled the crossbar with a header from a free-kick.

The draw means ATK Mohun Bagan remain second with 21 points, still five points behind the leaders, with Goa just behind them at third with 19 points.

Antonio Habas’ team will next face Chennaiyin FC on January 21, while Goa are up against Kerala Blasters FC on January 23.
