ISL 2020-21: Cole Alexander and Halicharan Narzary score as Odisha FC salvages a draw against Hyderabad FC

Odisha FC earned a hard fought draw against Hyderabad FC on Tuesday courtesy a 51st minute goal by Cole Alexander. With it, the first half lead that Hyderabad had taken from Halicharan Narzary’s 13th minute strike was cancelled out.

With the result, both teams retained their places on the points table – Hyderabad remains fourth with 17 points from 12 games, while Odisha is at the bottom with seven points.

Hyderabad dominated the first half and created several chances before going into the break with a deserving lead.

They started well and had their first chance in the 11th minute when Narzary’s first shot on target was blocked by the Odisha goal-keeper Jacob Tratt.

However, two minutes later, he was on target as Liston Colaco squared in a good pass into the circle and the striker just had to tap it into the goal.

Hyderabad had a golden opportunity to double the lead soon after but were denied by the woodwork. It was Colaco again who set this opportunity as well.

Odisha drew level from a set-piece against the run of play soon after the break. Rakesh Pradhan found Diego Mauricio from a throw-in, and the latter played the ball towards Alexander. The Odisha captain struck on the volley from outside the box, as Kattimani stood still, watching the ball head into the bottom corner.
